Card Making

For Christmas this year (you know you are already thinking about it crafty ladies) I'm giving some overseas friends sets of cards that they can use throughout the year. Some birthday, generic, get well soon, bon voyage and baby cards. They are for non crafters who love receiving hand made gifts especially useful ones.
I've used Up Up and Away for the more masculine and Secret Bird Society (both by Kaisercraft) for the feminine cards and I just love them. I call this my TV crafting - Masterchef is perfect for that! I also used Basic Grey card stock, it's lovely and matte and takes glue and tape really well.

Cafe Life

The Kaisercraft Saturday sketches are a really good way of picking up new lay out ideas and techniques. This is there 2nd one for April and it was great to try and adapt the sketch to my own design.

coasters

Great quick project made easier by using my Martha Stewart circle cutter. using Kaisercraft's Secret Bird Society again - plan to use every last scrap of this collection I love it so! I also used kaiserpaint - a base of sea breeze and distressed with raw umber and coated 4 times with mod podge. It was a nice way to spend an hour in the evening that's for sure. A nice birthday gift too!

Saturday Sketch

This is for Kaisercraft's Sat Sketch comp. I could use the Secret Bird Society collection for a year and still not tire of it. SO gorgeous. This layout is of my daughter Hopes 16th birthday. Her birthday fell in the middle of the week and her party was the following weekend. So on the actual day she and I went up to Hanging rock and hand lunch and then climbed to the top of the mountain together. It was one of the loveliest days of my life. When you scrap moments like these you understand why scrapbooking is so important to people.
